Sometimes our Google searches get cluttered up with results we know we don't want, but Apartment Therapy Tech pinpointed a simple solution for that: prepend the search term you want to exclude with a dash.

Here's how it works:

When: when you want to exclude certain items from your results.

How: "QUERYNAMEHERE -EXCLUDEDTERM"

Example: Affordable Couches -IKEA would bring back results for sites listing affordable couches, but excludes anything from IKEA.

Not a bad way to find exactly the results you want. For more helpful search tips, hit up the full post over at Apartment Therapy Tech.
